And the title goes to...
Hahaha, Sonneteer gave me another nickname, and dubbed me "Doctor of the Year." I was apparently highly acclaimed Medic a few nights ago, or at least I got lots of compliments from people. Which always makes my day, because as a kind of a career Medic I like hearing how I'm doing. And a simple "thank you" or "you rock" is something that makes me smile dimwittedly for the rest of the day, because I know that I'm doing my job okay. And I guess I wasn't doing too bad, since I broke my max points record (funny that I just whined about Pyro tieing with Medic in max points and I thought it would take me a while until I break any scores with Medic. Well, first I got 25, and after that 27) and you know what?
You know what?

I cheered when it happened. I've never been as happy about dying as I was then, haha. And it was once again Dustbowl's second stage, my team was defending and I kept healing people near the last point.
And I'm pretty damn proud of that new healing record.
So, Doctor of the Year. I tried some Heavy/Medic combo action with Sonneteer a few nights ago on Dustbowl and that was awesome as hell. Sonneteer insisted on being a horrible Medic buddy, but it turned out that we were topping the scoreboard for the entire match (and I dominated half of the enemy team).
And ftr, Sonneteer, you were doing good. You didn't waste any of my übers and you didn't pull off any crazy-stupid kamikaze stunts, so you're totally ok in my book. WE MAKE GOOD TEAM!
And we have to do that again.
Also, we need to switch, I haven't played as Heavy in forever, haha.
I also noticed how Übersaw is starting to change my Medic tactics drastically. I find myself going strange ambush-oriented combat Medic every now and then, only to gain (or rather trying to gain) some easy übers. I try to sneak behind oblivious enemies and kill them or at least get a few hits in just to return to my team with a brand new übercharge. It also makes me too bold (because whenever I get a melee kill in the heat of a battle, I get so excited and I want to do it more) and I die embarrasingly while trying to bonesaw a Heavy or a Soldier (or in worst cases, a Pyro, although I've killed those as well, usually from the back and when they don't see me coming) to death.
My Übersaw frenzy has come to the point where I automatically tap 3 whenever I need to fight (and I mean normal confrontations, not when I deliberately fuck off to do some killing). I don't even remember the last time I used the Blutsauger. And yes, it gets me killed when there's a Pyro rushing at me and I start retreating with the Übersaw in hand. And then I'm dead before I realise that this is wrong, what the hell am I doing, and try to switch to the Blutsauger. Wtf, Chrome, just wtf.
And against all odds most of the time my ventures from ze healing to ze hurting are surprisingly successful: I'm doing my usual healan gaems, see an oblivious Demo or a Soldier somewhere, ditch my healee (who's usually facing the other way, hence I can almost blame my murderous ways on self-preservation), chase the enemy down from behind, kill him with a few swift strikes, and retun to my healee with a full charge.
And then I engage Heavies in melee and circle-strafe them and oh god, I really seem to have a death wish these days. The worst part is that it succeeds sometimes, which gives me insane battle high, which makes me ingore everything around me, which gets me killed in less than a few seconds. And I don't know if it's worth it to first kill a Heavy in melee and then get gibbed by a passing Easy Mode. While holding a full charge. Eehh.

I also do so much defending it's not even funny. The kills in the screenshot above were people standing near the cart. And yes, it's ruining my respectable Medic image, because dammit there were two Pyros, I could've easily let them kill the enemies while backing them up, but noooo I had to charge in waving the Übersaw around. Sure, I killed the remaining people near the cart and defended successfully, and naturally I almost got my charge full from the killing spree, and that would've helped us immensely were there another enemy rush coming, but it's always Russian Roulette. Then again, almost everything is. And, argh, right after that I healed the Pyros, got the charge and right then a fucking Sniper headshots me. Didn't even get to finish the "I am fully charged!" voiceclip.
I hate Snipers.
So much for the charge and successful killing spree then.
Later on, on Gravel Pit, I was coming from the respawn and heading out to cap B because enemy was trying to cap it (and I was in RED). And there was no one there; I don't know if most of my team was dead, or if the enemy was camping our respawn, or what the fuck was happening, but I was once again facing a bunch of enemies, alone. And instead of waiting, I rush in, kill a Pyro who saw me coming and tried to rush me (that must've hurt, I know I'm pissed if a goddamn lonely Medic bonesaws me to the face when I'm Pyro, because come on), and get another kill and a defense before inevitably buying the farm. So not part of my job description, this defending stuff.
Also, killing Slaverstrike with the Übersaw when he's Soldier is gotta be one of the most awesome things I've done in a while. Haha. Because it's always goddamn impossible for me to kill him, so I'm exceptionally proud of myself if I do it. Thanks for the easy charge, Slaver! <3
But anyway, at some point I had more kills than deaths, and that made me go "umm what" for a good while. Oh dear. Soon I'll be adapting a true combat Medic attitude and start living by the code of "ze healing is not as rewarding as ze hurting" and become a bonesaw-wielding homicidal maniac.
Let's hope that I won't.

Homicidal Doctor of the Year! Man you're insane. :D And awesome.
AND WE DID MAKE A GOOD TEAM. I had something like 8 defences, 30 kills and only 6 deaths at some point. Then when you stopped medicing and your brother joined the other team as Sniper I mysteriously started to die a whole lot more often.
Oh crap I had more I wanted to say but I'm at work and gotta go. WHAT A FINE EMPLOYEE I MAKE.
And to think that you accused me of being a crazy combat Medic for killing a few Scouts, hahaha. But I guess Übersaw kills are more justified since they're actually somewhat useful. If you succeed.
And I actually thought what would happen if we switched the Heavy/Medic roles. I.. highly doubt we'd be nearly as successful, since I don't really know how to be a good Medic yet. I know I'm somewhat useful, since its always good to have a healer around but.. I wouldn't even make it to be Doctor of the Week. ;_; Nagst.
And you must've brought out the best of me, I usually do much worse. :D SO LET'S PLAY IT SAFE and keep thinking I make a poor Medic buddy!
I feel bad for letting you die a few times though. I forgot there was someone OF GREAT IMPORTANCE behind me so when a Pyro strolled past me I just went "OH HO NO YOU'RE NOT CIRCLE-STRAFING ME I- hey wait, where are you going. D:"
And I still wake up to the faint scent of burning Medic flesh.
Well, trembling enthusiasm, exposed flesh, o ho ho. Medic's homicidal josefmengele-ness (is so a word) is rubbing onto me.
8 defenses, really? Whoa, I didn't even realize! :O I just kept giving you those übers whenever enemies tried to charge our point, so apparently we really must've been doing our job. Excellent!
I do remember you staying alive for the longest time at some point (well duh, I was sticking to your ass the whole time), and then a Spy got you. I was just pretty amused that the Spy went right after you, and didn't even try to kill me. I was sad that someone else killed him before I got to it, it would've been awesome avenging your death. :D
Haha, well you can come back later, then.
Damn you're fast. D:
But yeah, I guess the Übersaw thing is excusable, because I don't actually go out killing people because I want to get kills, I go out killing people because I want to get übercharges. So, eh.
And yeah, if we switched it would probably be catastrophic because I'm not a very good Heavy. But we could try it out, it's not like we have anything to lose. :D
I wish I could give you some Medic tips, but, uh, I don't know what I do differently from every other Medic out there. D: I guess the skill comes with time. I stay alive because I don't follow people on suicide missions, I usually know when to run away and when to stay and fight, I keep moving all the time so I'm harder to hit (I never stand still), and I keep an eye on my surroundings (especially my back) all the time. And I won't use the über unless a) I'm dying, b) we need it, and in some cases c) when my target's dying. I'm used to hanging onto charges forever, especially when I'm on defense. And I try to heal everyone who's in need (and if things are not too hectic, I also try to buff everyone).
Hahahaha oh wow. :D
Actually I didn't think any of my deaths were your fault.
Just keep in mind that if I ever run in front of you, it probably means that there's something behind us. Using mic, oh, it would be grand.
Entangled comments oh god.
"But we could try it out, it's not like we have anything to lose. :D
EXCEPT OUR PRIDE AND DIGNITY.
No but. We could. If you don't mind having a sucky Medic sticking to your ass.
And yess I agree on what you said about the Medic tips. It's probably mostly things that come through time and playing hours, like learning to pay closer attention to your surroundings and the things that actually matter. I forget to watch my back all the time and often don't even remember that Spies exist. :| (There was one really cheeky one a few days ago who kept calling for Medic as Solly and once he got me with him, he went straight to our sentry and sapped it, hahahaha what the hell. Naturally I whipped the saw out immediately but.. the most embarrassing thing is I didn't even kill him. Oh god it was so horrible I almost wanted to keep it a secret.)
Plus the thing about übers. I try to save them till they're the most useful, but too often I end up getting backstabbed or headshot when I hog a full charge so rgrghrg. Again, a thing that ought to change once I learn to pay better attention to what's happening around (and especially behind) me.
And I've just recently learned that I.. don't actually have to follow my healing target on their suicidal paths, haha. I'm still somewhat of a lapdog and might go "wha- oh you're about to face the entire opposing team by yourself? Well I.. okay, I guess. :0 Wouldn't recommend it but HERE WE GO". And five seconds later bloody chunks of Medic hit the wall. But at least I'm learning! And am doing the buffing and moving around the best I can. I just feel like I'm sticking out way too much when a Medic. I should learn to place myself better so I'm not a completely obvious target.
But I hate it when I'm at the last point on.. well, for example Dustbowl and nobody else seems to be around. Sure it's good if we manage to push the other team back, but shouldn't at least someone be guarding the damn point? And preferably not a lonely Medic. :'D
I've had sneaky Demomen or Scouts using alternate routes and getting behind us and capping the final point in peace and quiet, and would prefer if it didn't happen again.
BABBLEATTACK.
Haha, the tip on the screen there made me laugh. Nice one to tell to someone who just got the Specialist achievement. DID YOU KNOW THAT ÜBER MAKES YOU INVULNERABLE, CHROME?
:D Sit oon aina ilonen ku saan tekemistä.
Et.. kiitos kun pölötät suht usein!
Fffff lol I didn't even notice the tip on the screenshot! WHAT NO I HAD NO IDEA THAT ÜBER MAKES ME INVULNERABLE.
What pride? What dignity? :D And if you don't mind having a horrible Heavy to stick to.
I admit I'm a horrible selfish Medic and I think that (almost) everyone else is more expendable than I am. :D And it's not because I don't want to die, it's because dammit, if I die everyone's without a heal during my respawn and then they die. So I'm still thinking about the team! I don't give a damn about my healing target if they're stupid enough to charge into a sentry-infested enemy base while my charge is only half full. So don't expect me to follow you if I think you can't pull it off without getting us both killed!
Sure I pull stupid crazy stunts myself, so I'm being a horrible hypocrite, but ain't I always. :D
Demos should be guarding the damn point (and Engineers, but that goes without saying)! Stickies are made for defending points! I don't know why they don't do it, I mean, I always see Demos on Dustbowl and still there are no stickies on the point. It's not camping, it's a very viable defense tactic! The other team just simply sucks if they don't know how to handle a sticky-covered point. And stupid Pyros are so enamoured by Backburner that they don't realise how the airburst is the best thing ever to handle stickies with. But as a Demo I kinda like that. Never use anything but the Backburner, Pyros!
And yeah, there's not much you can do when everyone else's dead and you're facing a bunch of enemies by yourself. Can't do anything but draw the Übersaw and charge in hoping for the best.
BABBLECOUNTER.
