More Medic content to come? In MY TF2? It's more likely than you think!

Badwater Basin, the new Payload map was revealed last night. I am intrigued, it would seem like nice deviation from the Dustbowl-esque Gold Rush, and I'm definitely looking forward to getting to play a game on it.

But that's not why I post, because I'm finally about to post some real actual CONTENT in this blog apart from personal gaming experiences and commenting on news everyone already knows about. YOU MAY NOT EVEN KNOW ABOUT THIS YET, GASP. No, it's not exclusive info, this comes straight from TF2Chan, which I frequent like the little faghag that I am.

So, an interesting little fact came up when someone emailed Valve about the removed broken "Oktoberfest!" Medic taunt.

I don't know if you are aware, but some time ago someone found another medigun taunt from TF2 GCF. It was broken, so someone fixed it and made it work in-game (...an awful lot of "someones" here...), and I believe it was on Youtube as well (oh, here it is). Later on the taunt was removed in a patch, which made us all sad, because we had grown to love the crazy medigun-huffing Doctor.

So, Robin Walker responded to the question about reinstating the taunt with

"The reason we removed it was because we weren't done working on it, and had never intended to ship the content behind it yet. It's still coming, and when it arrives, it'll be even neater than what you've seen so far."

The rest is open for speculation, and oh my. New Medic content? Could it be?
This is also quite interesting in the light of the rumoured Heavy unlockables: if the Heavy really does get a healing sandwich to taunt with, could it be that this new Medic taunt would heal the good Doctor as well?
Oh how do I love speculation.

OKTOBERFEEEEEEEST!

Is the only thing I can say to that. I never saw the taunt in-game, but I freakin' burst into laughter every time I hear him shout it and I've seen the videos of the taunt. SO A TRIPLE YAY FOR IT'S PROMISED SECOND COMING.

And yes, you can call me Sonny. :D Or Son or Sonnet or whatever you like.
... what nicknames can you get from Chrome? I'm gonna start calling you Chro. Or Rome! Chromy.

And every class should totally have a killing taunt. It would make the humiliation rounds so much more interesting. :D
Head-exploding and brain-boiling violin playing..? Or Sniper's salute of doom! And.. um.. hoedown of... something dangerous. Ok maybe not.
Lol at deadly BONK.

I'm kind of intimidated of CP Steel. D: It seems so bloody complicated for my simple maget brain, it's gonna take WEEKS before I learn to move around. I'm still baffled about many of Dustbowl's shortcuts, so.. ehh.
But it seems cool and at least I can comfort myself with the fact that once the update comes out, it's going to be new and confusing to many players.

And speaking of comfort, the HK servers tend to have a three person limit to the updated classes, right? D: I'm having nightmares of a team with 10 Heavies and a couple of very busy Medics.

Hmm I tried to reply to this earlier and apparently forgot something... anyway yeah we've been going with a limit of 3 per team, but we're considering 2 for this one. We're also thinking of changing server #3 to only run the new maps for a while after the update.

Dom: Oh shit, then I'm really gonna have to be on a waiting list if I want to continue playing Heavy after Tuesday. :D
But selfishness aside, I guess the limit of 2 might be a good idea. You rarely see more than 2 fatties nowadays anyways, achievements shouldn't rock the balance or be the sole reason of choosing a class. FATTY GETS NO LOEV.

Is the Pyro limit still gonna stay, though?

I think the Pyro limit will probably remain in place for a while longer, yes :) We've actually removed the limit of 3 on medics and nobody seems to have noticed, so I guess we got the timing about right.

Thing is, extra medics aren't usually a bad thing, but having 5 pyros on a team of 10 players can cost you the game, which is no fun for the other 5 poor sods.
