Wtf.

Okay, am I just missing something here, or has there always been room for stats of a tenth class in tf2_playerstats.dmx?
I mean I'm quite sure that it wasn't there the last time I checked the file: that the stats ended on Engineer, and there was no "iPlayerClass" "10".
It could be that I'm just remembering wrong, wouldn't be the first time I've overlooked something like that.

So, um, does anyone know what it's all about, or are we now allowed to be pretty sure that there'll be a tenth class sooner or later?

My money's on the VIP.

ETA: Ha! I was RIGHT! The tenth class stats haven't always been there!

And oh yeah: this blog has a fuckload of hits every month, and while I know that most of them are probably me, and many are random hits from Google or wherever, there is still way too much traffic considering that I can name maybe 5-10 people who actually read this thing.
So, um, speak up, please, if you're actually reading this blog. You can comment anonymously, I think, and I'd love to hear if total strangers actually enjoy my tiresome babblings.

Sean: Hi there! Glad to hear you're enjoying my posts (and thanks for stepping out of the shadows). I'm not sure if I can play at all next weekend (real life is trying to interfere with my gaming routines), but I'm sure we can catch each other and play a game sooner or later.

About the mysterious "Tenth Class", this might be evidence that Valve is going to implement the "Commander Class". I remember in a interview that Valve originally wanted have this class appear in the game however their plans did not work out. The Commander was part of a previous version of Team Fortress 2 that was more realistic. Although we might already have The Commander in another form as the voice (Ellen McLain) that gives out updates about the battle. Here is the article that mentions The Commander. Although I'm probably completely wrong and the tenth class is a new character.

Virtueversusvice: First of all, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying my writings, and I'll be sure to continue as long as I still have stuff to write about (and whoa yeah I should check the comments more often).

And yeah, I was aware of the scrapped Commander Class, I just don't think Valve's going to go back there. TF2 has indeed changed so much from the days when they thought of using the Commander, and I don't think the game is suitable for such a character anymore, unless they make some drastic changes to it. Then again, who knows what Valve is working on behind closed doors. And sure Commander would work well on a whole new game mode designed for him.
My money's still on the VIP (or the Civilian, however you prefer), since community's been longing for Hunted, he appeared on Meet the Sniper (although that could've easily been just a nod to the original character) and... well, like I said, who knows. Can't do anything but speculate and wait.

If you have access to a PS3, please look me up on the Playstation Network and perhaps we could play a game of Metal Gear Online. I would like to play Team Fortress 2 with you however I own the PS3 version not the PC one.

If you have a question don't hesitate to ask.
