I've been somewhat into ABJDs since 2006, and I got my first doll in 2007. My doll family is still very small (because I can't really afford them), but I have a list of about ten characters I am going to get in doll form sooner or later.
I'm not really in the doll fandom: I only lurk at Hartsilapset (the Finnish doll forum) and look at pictures on DoA. I realise that this is a goddamn insane and ridiculously expensive hobby, but I think the dolls are very pretty. That's enough for me.

You have no idea what I'm talking about? Either Google it, or go take a look at Den of Angels. These dolls are collectable items rather than toys, and they're hand-made, which is the reason for their high prices. My dolls are SD-sized, which means that they're about 60 cm high (Cade is tiny, only 15 cm or so). They're fully jointed and poseable, and yes, all my dolls are male despite their girly looks. It's basically the norm, although there are some manlier-looking dolls on the market as well.
